FIRE AT TEWKESBURY FACTORY UP & RUNNING IN 48 HRS

14th November 2014

Leading UK shower tray manufacturer MX Group has confirmed that a fire overnight at its Tewkesbury manufacturing site has damaged one of the three shower tray manufacturing units on the site. The other two units and the stock, which is stored in an adjoining warehouse on the site, are all unscathed.

Due to the fire service being on site, all electrical, telephone and internet services are temporarily disconnected. It is anticipated that these will all be back up and running very soon.

MX Chairman Bernard Robinson says it's causing disruption today (14th November) but that this is very definitely temporary and that everything will be back to normal as quickly as possible: "It's disappointing when this sort of thing happens and we apologise for the inevitable minor disruption today to our dealings with our customers and suppliers. Rest assured, it is a temporary blip only and we will be back up and running soon. We can continue to manufacture here on site and the substantial stock of shower trays we keep on site to fulfil orders escaped the fire totally undamaged, so we will continue to make deliveries as planned. We will post updates on the web site to keep everyone informed of progress being made here in Tewkesbury. We thank everyone for their patience as we clear up and get back to full scale operation."
